News Editor sought for Morris Herald-News
Shaw Media is looking for a news editor to lead the Morris Herald-News news operations. The news editor will be based in Morris and lead news coverage on our website (MorrisHerald-News.com) and in our twice-weekly print edition.
The position will include reporting and working with a reporter and freelance staff to ensure news is reported, posted and shared promptly, as well as budgeting and editing the bi-weekly print edition.
About This Opportunity:
The ideal applicant will be someone who can make connections quickly in the community and use social media, newsletters and reporting skills to help our readers understand why these events and people are important to their lives. Ability to shoot photographs and video is needed, as is an understanding of the importance of social media and mobile in serving our audience.
At least two years of professional experience is preferred. Solid knowledge of AP Style and grammar required, as is the ability to write clear, concise copy. Must have a valid drivers license, dependable transportation and proof of insurance.
