Pro Football Weekly hires award-winning NFL writer Eric Edholm

Shaw Media is pleased to announce the addition to its Pro Football Weekly team of Award Winning writer, reporter and broadcaster, Eric Edholm.

Edholm is a Pro Football Weekly alum having joined the company in 2002 after graduating from the prestigious University of Missouri school of Journalism and first spending three years at the Sporting News.

Edholm spent over a decade at PFW, winning a coveted first place Pro Football Writers of America writing award in 2012 in the news category for his piece, "One displaced fan’s Super Bowl nightmare."

He was also a key contributor to PFW’s highly respected Way We Hear It section and one of its top performers on Pro Football Weekly’s syndicated television and radio programming.

Edholm left Pro Football Weekly temporarily in 2013 to join Yahoosports.com and its highly respected "Shutdown Corner" blog.

Just four months ago Edholm helped lead Yahoo Sports coverage of the draft as his "Draft Grades" story generated nearly seven million page views on its own and the team generated historic traffic for Yahoo with more than 44 million views of its live programming on draft weekend.

His work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, he was a highly popular co-host on web video broadcasts from 120 Sports’ "Football Fix" show and is a regular guest on a number of national radio and TV shows.

Long time Pro Football Weekly Editor and General Manager Hub Arkush believes Edholm’s return to PFW is a game-changer.

"As we continue the re-branding and rapidly growing re-distribution of Pro Football Weekly from its original print roots to a Multi Media sports platform with products in digital, print, social media and broadcast, and adding additional staff I hoped to be able to kick things off with a game-changer.

"Eric is absolutely that guy.

"From his roots at PFW to the tremendous accomplishments he’s had in recent seasons with Yahoo, the Journal and his other media credits Eric was always my first choice to help Pro Football Weekly maintain its position producing ‘The Best Coverage In The NFL’."

Edholm is also thrilled to return.

"I was thrilled when Hub reached out to me about coming back to Pro Football Weekly — it’s the place I first really cut my teeth covering the NFL and developed my passion for pro football," Edholm said. "I am very excited to be back and to aim to give hardcore football fans what they want."
